mechanical seal manufacturer

Mechanical Seal Sourcing coordinates comparable factory quotations from a mechanical seal manufacturer against one buyer brief. We do not own a factory and we are not a brand-appointed reseller. Each bidder must state assumptions for faces, elastomers, flush or quench plan, working pressure with units, and which tooling, installation, shipping, training and commissioning items are included or excluded. A family maximum temperature in °C or °F, a maximum bar(g) or psi(g), and a surface speed in m/s must not be combined into one assumed duty unless the named model sheet states those limits together.

Service stage and responsibilities

Requirement review

  1. Requirement review: Sample run

Ask each manufacturer to list the fluid, solids, cleaning media, chamber pressure reference and whether a representative sample run uses water, the process fluid or a named surrogate. Record viscosity and duty cycle because they change heat at the faces. A dry spin without flush flow is not a sample run for a high-solids slurry.

  2. Site readiness

Confirm who supplies flush or quench piping, cooling water, gland-plate fasteners and coupling alignment. Three-phase supply and PLC interface usually belong to the host pump, yet a seal support skid may still need a separate connected load. Write those interfaces so installation is not hidden in a low hardware line.

  3. Owner acceptance

Owner acceptance should cite leak-off, flush flow and chamber temperature against the same pressure and temperature used in the RFQ. FAT documents from a supplier remain their documents; SAT on the buyer fluid remains a contract item. Mechanical Seal Sourcing does not certify commissioning results.

When quotes arrive, we restate inclusions so a cartridge, a multiple-spring component set and a complete gland kit are not scored as the same bill. Open the inquiry catalog if you already know the option family, or send the brief if the manufacturer shortlist is still open. Bare-seal versus complete scope explains a common mismatch.
